Ashlyn's Photography Debut

Like Mother Like Daughter??!

I let Ashlyn Take control of the camera today for the first time. And she actually did a great job. When Josh takes pictures of me they usually turn out horrible no matter how hard he tries, and I always close my eyes, but Ashlyn caught some adorable candid moments with me and Rylan that Josh has never been able to do. Of course except for the ones she took of her own finger!!

He's starting to stand, and loves to sit up, still supported of course.

I love this pic. I dont know why but I really do!!

Actually Jayden got his turn and wasnt so bad either!!!

Two Weeks Later...

This last two weeks has been a bit of a blur. But here are a few highlights...

We took two trips to San Antonio, one to see our "property" and then for once of Josh's family reunions. Here's "our River" and heres Andi peeing in Our River.

The Bumbo

We love this bumbo. He can sit and watch us at the computer, sit by the river and play with us, sit on the couch with us, or sometimes he is the centerpiece of the table like at Josh's family reunion. It was one of those purchases that Josh thought my Nesting Instinct overtook my rational thinking and I got tricked into buying another baby toy I would never use. But now he loves it. Its so hard to hold Rylan all the time now that he's getting so much bigger, and this offers the perfect solution.

Brother play time. Rylan loves it when Jayden takes the time to climb in and play with him.

For those of you with the pleasure of talking to Ashlyn on the phone I thought Id give you a little view of what she looks like on this end.

Hi All!!

Well I hate to tell ya this, but there's not very many new and exciting things to share, so here's just a few random pictures. Thanks to all of you in your support with Josh's test this week. We're so glad its finally over, and so glad that the outcome was good. On to the next big projects, and now he has to go get a new side job thanks to his degree. Theres always something. But because of his work injury we still get him work free, and study free for one more full week!!

I changed my hair this week. Emily dyed it for me, so this ones for you Emily!!

Happy Jourth of Fuly

Hello Again!!! I hope you all enjoyed your 4th of July. Our day was fairly low key, especially considering all the rain we've been having. But the first picture this week is a bi product of that night. Andi and Emily went on a camera spree and the later it got the crazier the pictures and the funnier they all thought they were. This was Josh's first blog request, to have this picture added, so how could I resist? If it were me, I think my request would be the opposite.

Every few weeks I set up the "studio" and see what kind of pictures we can end up with. This week was especially crazy since my batteries gave out on my other camera, and time was running low, before church and before Rylans "happy time ends" but these two pictures pretty much sum up picture taking at our house. Someone is always crying, Jayden is rarely dressed, Josh is usually the hardest one to get to smile, and Ashlyn is posing as always!!! And me behind the camera, which is probably for the best.

But in the end we always end up with at least a few priceless shots. This one is a keeper!

See ya next week! Same bat time, same bat channel.

July First!!!

So for those of you keeping track, I thought Id update you. Rylan is sleeping through the night from 9-6 or 7. Hallelujah!! One of my favorite things about him is that I can set him down in his bassinet or somewhere else and he puts himself to sleep. Let's see if that one sticks.
Jayden is now computer savvy. We taught him how to play a fishy game on the computer when Rylan was born, and now he can play several games, he is so funny to watch. Yesterday Josh caught him with a penny in his mouth and Josh told him to spit it out. So he did into Josh's hand, then he asked "Was it heads or tails Daddy?"
Ashlyn is still the human sponge, she came home last week from primary and proceeded to tell us the whole story of Alma the younger, how he was trying to destroy the church and was saying bad things so an angel came and they couldn't move and then they were good after that. So any of you teaching primary, if you think they aren't listening they really are. And today she came home and was sad because she wasn't the spotlight, so Josh and I spotlighted her. She thought that was pretty funny. She also asked Josh if she was going to get married in High School ( a word shes been hearing a lot because I'm making a high school memory video.) And he said no you'll get married after high school. She said "Oh OK I'm going to marry someone who cleans the bathrooms, actually someone who cleans the whole house!" Have I taught her good or what?? Then as Josh told me the story I asked her if she was going to help clean, and she said yes.

He's finally learned to keep his pacifier in almost all the time! Yipee!
Don't they almost have the same look on their faces?
I put Rylan in a jumperoo, which for those old school people out there these are the new version of the johnny jump ups that hang on the door. I just wanted to see how he'd do, and he loved it! I was surprised since he is so young, but he kicked with his feet and stood up, and held his head up so well. Ashlyn and I just sat and watched his every move, so it's good because it keeps not only him entertained, but us as well.

Ahhhh! Am I right ladies?

He looks so big when he's sitting. I just love it.

Happy sweet baby.
