The Sunday Post is back in full swing

Well everyone, I think I'm finally ready to be more consistent. And as I say that I wrote that Sunday night and here it is Monday morning just trying to really get around to it. Ooops. Anyways, life here is going as well as can be expected. Rylan has finally ,mastered a real crawl and only goes back to army style if hes on slippery floors (or if I put him in overalls). Jayden is trying to master the staying dry at night thing, hes about 50 50 right now, but is getting better. He hates being woken up for me to take him though, so some nights, its not so fun. But sometimes he remembers that he gets candy in the morning if he stays dry, so his eyes arent really open but he has a big smile on his face as hes going. Ashlyn is loving life. Just enjoying practicing her genie dance for May, and learning how to spell and read. She loves to practice writing so shell decide what she wants to write and will sound it out with me and then write it down. Shes getting very good and remembers all of her letter sounds and names and then what they look like in Upper case and lower case. At least most the time. Josh is pretty tired I think, now that hes on the ambulance he doesnt get much sleep two days a week, but everytime he complains he follows it up by talking about how much he loves his job and wouldnt want to do anything else, except of course, drive a slow pumper. Im finally over feeling sick, still a little tired, but I am able to get more done. Sometimes life still seems a little overwhelming. I guess pregnancy has that effect, but I am at least a little more productive. As you can see from the pictures, I decided to make a cake, and it is delicious!!!
Other than that I was surprised by a late night call from my mother telling me that Gordon B Hinkley died last night. I was sad to hear that but cant help but thin how happy he must be, so as much as we will miss him I think I will always think of him as a great prophet. He was the first one that I really came to know and love. He accomplished so much good in the world. I was then surprised by an early morning call from my mother telling me my Dad had emergency heart surgery last night. Thankfully it went well and he is in recovery now. But it always makes you think, and I am very grateful for my parents and the legacy that they gave to us. So get well soon Dad I love you!

Heres the cake I made. I added the toasted coconuts and almonds myself. I thought it neede just a little something more, and this made it perfect, I think.

Tagged

So Ive been tagged twice, and probably should go ahead and fulfill my tagment. JK I know I just made that word up. So I couldn't think of anything people dont know about Josh, so here are 6 things Im sure you already know about him. Sorry for all the bragging ahead of time. People afraid of mush should stay away!

1. He is the best husband ever!! No really, I'm sure you all like your husbands, but he really is the best. Hes one of those husbands that would do anything for their wives, and does. He gets me water in the middle of the night, (a big thing for me, if Natalie remembers), does the dishes, cleans the house, and fixes everything. Hes the husband and the wife! Dont tell him I said that. But what the best about him is he is loyal and generally is happy for me in everything I do. Hell let me go do girl things because when Im happy hes happy. Hes supportive and is one of those guys that I know he loves me just by the way he looks at me. Thats a great feeling.

2. Hes an amazing cook. He is very passionate about his cooking and food. Hes an award winning chef, and can make anything, although his favorite things to cook usually involve a bbq pit, and or smoker. The other day The other day Ashlyn was eating something he cooked and looked at him and said Dad you are the best Chef ever!!! So everyone thinks so. Some of his famous foods are... dancing chicken, queso, imitating cafe rio, and anything else you give him, he will make it better!
3. He is the biggest goofball. He has a fun loving spirit and as many people know a party is not a party unless Josh is there. He is funny and has fun no matter what he is doing. He always thinks the best in every situation and I havent met anyone yet who doesnt like him and even fewer people who he doesnt like. He can find the best in everyone and everything. And it shows when you are with him.

4. He is the Best Dad ever!! He knows how to play baseball one moment and have a tea party the next. He takes good care of them in every part of their lives, and they all light up when he comes in. Especially Rylan. He knows when Josh is home and will not look away until Josh has come over and given him some love. When Josh picks him up Rylan immediatly snuggles in.

5. Josh loves the state of Texas. His dream has always been to own a piece of Texas, and his dream came true when he bought our piece of property a year ago. My dream is to sell it!!! His idea of vacation does not include anything outside of Texas! Paris? Italy? Whats the point? Nothing could hold the excitement of Texas.

6. He is a hard worker. Anything he does he goes for full on. Ive never met anyone with better work ethic! I am always so proud of him. How he does his all that he does.. school, two jobs and a full family life, Ill never know. But thank goodness he does!

Blog Catch Up

I havent really blogged for a while, so I guess now its time to catch up a little. This last month was really fun, and we are so thankful for the great holidays we had. Heres a few of the pictures weve taken since then.

I call this piece "Waiting for Daddy."

I really should have her try out for america next top model. I caught her posing for pictures in the mirror the other day, and not a day goes by that she doesn't think of a good picture for me to take.
Jayden has had a new fascination of water, so we let him go outside to play with the hose. We told them it was too cold to swim, so they could fill up the bucket and play with the hose. Well I guess that plan was foiled since they found a way to get all wet anyways.
Rylans new christmas present. An alphabet zoo.

Rylan has gotten his curiosity bone in. He crawls and climbs in and around everything. He pulls up on whatever he can find, but thankfully is a lot more sturdy now since the things he picks to pull upon are usually the most dangerous. Like moving drawers, and things like that.
He LOVES outside!!! If someone leaves the door open he books over to it and crawls outside. His face lights up when he sees the door open or is looking out the window.

Happy Birthday Jayden

This week was full of celebration on behalf of our sweet little boy Jayden who is now 4 years old!!! Monday Josh got off work early and we went to chuck e cheese and as usual Josh and his sisters won a lot of tickets in hopes of getting Jayden whatever his little heart might desire. As we took him up to claim his prize- he found the least expensive stretchy spider- and was happy with that. So they used up the rest of their tickets with a bunch of cotton candy. At least hes easy to please. Then we went home and made some cake.

The next day he had school for the first time after break and brought some cupcakes which ended up a little worse for the wear. After school he opened up our present to him which was an explorer set with a telescope, binoculars, walkie talkies (which dont work) and such. Him and Ashlyn spent the rest of the night going on adventures.

Yesterday we threw a spiderman party. He had a blast and woke up that morning and made sure he picked out his birthday clothes. We sure are glad he's a part of our family and I am always so greatful for the light and joy he brings in our lives. It would definitely not be the same with out him.
