The old and the new

OK so for those of you who have asked to see what my obsessive nesting has brought...here ya go. Blame it on Craigslist. It is nice not to feel so ghetto or white trash, but I will say its a little more stressful because now I have to worry about what the kids do. Before it was like , whatever, strawberries on the couch sure, but now its like "dont move" but the kids even Jayden are really good about following the rules.

Old Carpet, with area rug to hide the ink stains.

New Carpet (Frieze for those of you who care)

Old couch

New couches Both sides recline and the love seat rocks and reclines. They arent my fav color, but they only had this color, and really the color I would want isnt the best for kids, and Josh likes this color. They are called a distressed microfiber, so it almost looks leathery, but is soft like microfiber.

Old kitchen table

New Kitchen table. I love the tall tables but was worried about the kids being so high, (especially Jayden since he doesnt like to sit on his chairs. But he sits on these, I think he knows the stakes are higher here, and they are really good about being careful) but the benches make me feel so much safer.

Our house really is not big enough for all the furniture, I guess our eyes are bigger than our house, but we outgrew our table and couch. For the week before the couches came and my Mom was here, we were all trying to pile on one couch. It was cozy, but Im so glad to have a little room to sit!!!

One Week Old

Well, Ty is officially one week old now. This week has been a whirlwind, but has been very good. Ive had a lot of help, Andi helped a lot until my Mom came on Friday. And my Mom has been a lifesaver ever since! Ty is a really good baby, he sleeps like a newborn, so you know what that means, but all in all hes really great. If only nursing werent so painful everything else is pretty good. Ashlyn and Jayden not only love having a new baby around but they also have been really good helpers in keeping everything clean, and being really good listeners. Rylan loves being around Ty but usually tries to grab on a little tight when he wants to touch him, but he usually doesnt try to disturb him much. I thought once I had four kids I would never leave the house, but we actually have already ventured out for a day of grocery shopping, which went pretty well. Logistically speaking its a lot of work getting all those kids in and out of the car, but they were great in the store, and somehow we survived. Emotionally, I think Im doing OK. I havent got the baby blues yet, (maybe its because I dont have time to), but Im still pretty hormonal. I have had to tell the kids a couple times, not to take me too seriously. I explained to them that when you have a baby you are sometimes a little crabby but it has nothing to do with them and not to take it personally. That really helped. You could see on their faces when I was being too harsh and then when I told them that you could see them relax and their faces lightened up a little. I wish it didnt have to be that way at all, but hopefully they wont end up too scarred.

Anyways thats our week in a nut shell. Heres a bunch of pictures, hope you enjoy.

Finally

Well everyone, the day has finally come and Ty has made it!! Ty was born July 13th at 6:55 p.m. As you know from previous posts that I have been having contractions all weekend, and I was scheduled for and inducement Mon morning. Sat night I started having them get much stronger but they wouldnt come any closer than 10 minutes apart and when I got up they became very sparatic again. I was really afraid when I was really in labor I would never know. Around 2 or 3 they started kicking in again, very strong, but still 10 minutes apart, so I ignored them for awhile. At about 4:30 they started getting closer together and by the time we left for the hospital at 5:30 they were between 1 and a half and 3 and half minutes apart, and I figured even if they did stop I was only hours away from being induced so might as well go to the hospital. When I got there I told them I had fast labors and to get the doctor ready. When they checked me I was at an 8. We checked in at 5:55 and by 6:55 he was born. I pushed for a few minutes, but then his heart rate dropped so the doctor has to suction him and pull him out. I will say that was a horrible feeling since I didnt have an epidural, and I was in so much pain after that he gave me something for the pain. It was a life saver. I really think I would have gone into shock if it werent for that. But everything was fine with him and I feel pretty good. A little nervous, but good. So far he slept really well last night. Ashlyn came up and visited us in the hospital but Jayden when asked if he wanted to come to the hospital decided he wanted to stay and play with his cousin, because he could just see the baby when he comes home. And he saw him tonight when we got home. Rylan on the other hand is in for a serious shock when he wakes up in the morning to find a new little baby who isnt going anywhere.

As for those of you who are wondering what his official name is... Well were not telling, you can just call him Ty.

Heres me a little drugged up.

The proud big sister. She wanted to stay in the hospital all day!!

Not Yet

I know some of you have been looking and nope still no baby. I was in false labor yesterday and steps away from leaving for the hospital, but glad I didnt because 5 minutes later, as soon as our sitter showed up, the contractions slowed considerably and pretty much stopped. This isnt the first time this has happened so Im hoping when hes REALLY ready Ill know it. Wish us luck.

Baby Watch

Hey so for those of you still on baby watch, it hasnt happened yet. I dont have any pictures this week because my camera is in my hospital bag, because I know its the one thing Ill forget if its not already packed. As for all the gory details please stop reading now if you dont want to know...I have already dialated to a 2 and half 60% effaced, last week it was a 2 and 50%. I have had some nights with a lot of contractions, but then they just stop, and I havent had any for a few days now. Im big and uncomfortable a lot, but dont feel too anxious to have him yet. Theres plenty to do if he doesnt want to come yet, and still would be fine if he ever does. Im nesting like crazy, I think this household will be a lot prettier and a lot more expensive the later he comes. Craigslist may be the end of us soon!! Jk. All our hopes for moving soon are gone, and so we decided to be happy in this one for awhile, Josh really wanted to stay 5 more years in this house, so I told him I would agree if he agrees to let me do some much needed upgrades. Tile check, new kitchen table check, so the rest of the list is...hold on tight its a long list...new carpet, new cabinet doors, new washer (when I say new I mean craigslist probably!), new fridge, new range, new couches, and Im sure Ill think of more as time goes on. I am so nesting and so bummed for not buying a new house that I want it all at once, but Im sure it will take at least a year or more to get most of these things. Patience....

Anyways, enough about that...April...yes I did post the tile pics, and I will soon have my tub finished and will post those soon too. I finally got smart and begged an "expert" to finish it for me. And no that does not mean Josh.

I promise when this baby makes his debut, I will let you all know, as soon as I can!For any of you who are still out there...Hellloooo....Hellooo...(echo)
